TOPEKA (KSNT) – Kansas head football coach David Beaty made a stop in Topeka on Tuesday night for KU Football in February event at the Ramada Inn and Convention Center. Beaty greeted several Jayhawk fans and discussed the upcoming football season.
“It’s much of the same for many programs throughout the country there’s no secret to it,” Beaty said. “It’s going to take hard work, it’s going to take earning it. It’s going to take guys that are willing to give up a lot to be able to gain what it takes.”
The Jayhawks finished last year’s campaign at (3-9) and haven’t won a game away from Lawrence since September of 2009.
“Sacrifice is the key. We’re going to have to give up sleep, we’re have to give up free time and devote it to football and academics and the things that are necessary for us to create a winner there.”
