Area teachers receive honors

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Manhattan and Topeka educator are on a statewide list calling them “Master Teachers.”

On Tuesday, Emporia State University announced its 2015 Kansas Master Teachers.

Among the seven is Barbara Clark, a fourth-grade teacher at Northview Elementary School in Manhattan.

Washburn Rural Middle School social studies teacher Bill McFarland of Topeka also made the list.

ESU established the awards in 1954.

They are presented annually to quality teachers who have served long term in the profession.

This year’s class will be honored in April in Emporia.
