K-State women’s hoops sweeps season series over KU

K-State's Haley Texada leads the Wildcats with 20 points as the Wildcats defeat Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Haley Texada scored 20 points as the Wildcats outlasted the Jayhawks 55-48 at Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. K-State won both meetings against the Jayhawks (13-16, 4-12 Big 12).

KU stormed back to a take 41-40 lead after trailing by as many as 10 in the second half, but the Wildcats (16-11, 6-10 Big 12) had a 12-0 run to put the game out of reach.

Jessica Sheble tallied 9 points and 9 rebounds off the bench for K-State.

KU’s Chelsea Gardner scored 15 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and recorded 5 blocks in a losing effort. The Jayhawks visit Oklahoma on Saturday while K-State travels to TCU.
