Discovery Center hosts Engineering Expo

TOPEKA (KSNT)- Hundreds of children and families enjoyed engineering activities, challenges and demonstrations throughout the day at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center.

The 4th annual Engineering Expo featured a number of new hands-on activity areas for children: the Keva Skyscraper Tower building challenge sponsored by Bartlett &West, Westar’s PowerTown, Lego Robotics by Sylvan Learning Center, and 712 Innovations “Think, Make, Do” booth.

Children and parents talked with professional engineers who were on site to learn more about the wide variety of engineering careers.Engineers invited children to test their critical and creative thinking skills as they worked both independently and in groups to strategize, design, build, and successfully conquer a variety of engineering challenges.
