TOPEKA (KSNT) – After two days of thorough vetting, a Senate Committee has voted to approve Governor Sam Brownback’s nominee to the Kansas Court of Appeals, Kathryn Gardner.

Her nomination now advances to the full Senate for consideration.

Sen. David Haley, Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says he feels the committee did its due diligence considering Gardner’s qualifications and is confident referring her nomination on to the full Senate.

Gardner has served as the law clerk for U.S. District Judge Sam Crow since 2000 after working for 12 years as a practicing lawyer in Wichita and two years as an assistant state attorney general.
