JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) -Junction City continue to investigate a homicide of a 52-year-old woman found dead Sunday afternoon.
The Junction City Police Department identified the victim in Sundays homicide as Sharon L. Moody.
Late Sunday night, police arrested her boyfriend Daniel Edwards in Topeka for her murder. An autopsy is currently underway to determine the cause of her death.
KSNT News spoke with neighbors Sunday who said they didn’t hear any commotion from the house and one neighbor who just moved to the area to try to escape the big city crime.
“We left Springfield to kind of give our boys a safer neighborhood…or what we thought.” said neighbor Keshia Lucas.
Thirty-four-year-old Daniel Edwards was located in Topeka by the Topeka Police Department. Detectives from the Junction City Police Department responded to Topeka and interviewed Edwards and later arrested him for the murder of Moody.
Edwards was transported back to Junction City where he was booked, processed and confined at the Geary County Detention Center with no bond.
Junction City Police say they will have no further comments until the autopsy is completed.
