Equality House celebrates two year anniversary

TOPEKA, Kan.(KSNT)-  The Topeka Equality House has a day of activities and events planned Saturday to thank the community for two years of partnership in providing awareness and education about Equality House history and impact.

Thursday marked the two year anniversary of the launch of the Equality House in the Topeka community. In celebration of the milestone, the non-profit will host an open house and several activities, including tours to provide a history and education about the house and its impact , a hand-print mural, games and activities and a “Plant one for Peace” photo, where couples-gay and straight-are invited to participate in a group photo in front of the Westboro Baptist Church.

The event will be held at the Equality House, located at 1200 SW Orleans St. in Topeka from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
