Sunday liquor sales now allowed in Junction City

JUNCTION CITY, Kan.(KSNT)- Liquor stores in Junction City have the green light to start Sunday sales this weekend.

City manager Allen Dinkel said the clerk’s office didn’t receive a protest petition opposing the ordinance by the Thursday 5 p.m. deadline, so liquor stores can open starting this Sunday.

The ordinance passed in January, but had to go through a 90-day waiting period before it could legally go into effect.

Stores will be allowed to sell cereal malt beverages between noon and 8 p.m. on Sundays, except for Easter Sunday, Christmas and Thanksgivin
