New twist in controversial Go Fund Me account to benefit accident victims

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Here’s an update on a story we’ve been following all week after a car crash sent a woman to the hospital and left her baby daughter dead.

A Go Fund Me account was set up and then taken down at the request of the family.

Friday, the family of Bree Emery, the driver of the vehicle in a two car head on crash on Highway 24 earlier this week, has filed  a complaint with the Kansas Attorney General’s office.

The family says despite repeated attempts since Wednesday, no one in the family has control of the more than $13,000 raised by 400 plus donors.

The family also says Bree remains in serious condition at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Those behind the account told us Thursday they have made arrangements for the money to be transferred directly from the account to the family.
