SCHENECTADY N.Y. (WJAC) If you’ve been anxiously awaiting signs of spring, flowers are blooming, and so are the potholes.
Now one Schenectady, New York woman is using one to fix the other.
Instead of simply griping about the gaping potholes left behind by a brutal winter, Elaine Santore’s first days of spring have been spent filling them with flowers. In all, Santore planted colorful clusters in ten pavement craters.
“I’m just making a little point, in a nice peaceful way,” she explains.
Someone noticed. One day after one group of flowers went in, they were gone and there was black top in their place.
