Semi accident slows traffic on I-70

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A semi crash slowed traffic down on the westbound lanes of I-70 Thursday afternoon.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority tweeted just before 1:00 p.m. that all lanes on westbound I-70 are blocked at mile marker 205 between the east Lawrence toll gate and service area due to a semi accident.

A report from the KTA said the driver, Paskov Oleksandr, 22, of Tacoma, Wash. wasn’t injured and was wearing his seat belt.

According to the report, Oleksandr over corrected the big rig after veering to the right side of the highway and it tipped over. The cab landed on the passenger side.

At this time there is no estimate on when the lanes will reopen however, around 3 p.m. a tow truck was attempting to right the semi.
