MANHATTAN (KSNT) – A “rash” of vehicle burglaries in Manhattan are currently under investigation by the Riley County Police Department.
Police say Wednesday, victims in the 3200 and 3300 blocks of Valleywood Drive reported that their unlocked vehicles had been burglarized. Stolen items included GPS unit, phone chargers, binoculars, Harley Davidson suspension shocks, a flashlight, and a hunting knife. There were eight victims and the stolen items totaled more than $1,500.
In a separate report, officers are investigating after someone broke into a garage in the 3200 block of Valleydale Drive. The person reportedly came in through a window, although the homeowners reported the garage’s screen door had been damaged. The burglary victims reported nothing stolen.
RCPD asks that anyone with information on these crimes contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers at 785-539-7777. Community members working with law enforcement in this capacity could qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00 while remaining completely anonymous.
