Suspicious mail reported in Manhattan

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Late Monday afternoon, staff at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan received a piece of mail that they later deemed to be suspicious in nature.

In a press release issued by the Riley County Police Department, the RCPD hazardous materials response team and bomb team with assistance from the Manhattan Fire Department hazardous materials response team responded to the call as a precautionary measure.

It was later determined that the suspicious piece of mail was a document that posed no risk to public safety.
