TOPEKA (KSNT) – As part of a Fourth of July tradition, the Shawnee Boat and Ski Club held its annual ‘Water Ski Show’ at Lake Shawnee on Saturday night.
Fans and spectators lined the north shores of the lake to watch the hour-long show. There were roughly 20 skiers who hopped in the water and performed tricks to entertain everyone in attendance. Kids as young as four and five years old were also involved in the show. They formed pyramids, and ski lines. There were also jumpers as well as barefoot skiing.
“We like to deck out as much red, white, and blue as we can,” said ski club member Michael Deever. “It’s just a great joy to be able to put on.”
