Royelle Lamont Miller is charged with two felonies – an aggravated weapons violation by a felon and with interfering with a law enforcement officer.
The shooting was reported at 3300 SE Humboldt just after 9:30 Friday night. Miller was injured in that shooting, was taken to the hospital for treatment and then was booked into the jail on his discharge from the hospital.
Topeka police confirmed his connection to the shooting.
Saturday police announced the arrest of 35 year old Ralfeal L. Carr, also of Topeka, in connection with the same shooting. Carr is charged with aggravated battery, an aggravated weapons violation and shooting at an unoccupied dwelling.
The arrest comes as police attempt to crack down on a series of shootings, including the fatal shootings of 5 year old Lily Coats-Nichols on July 6th and 45 year old Antwon J. Love July 18th.
