MANHATTAN (KSNT) – There’s usually no bad blood between Riley County’s emergency response agencies, but this week the departments are setting their cooperative efforts aside to get competitive for a good cause.
This marks the 12th Annual Battle of the Badges between Manhattan Fire Department, Riley County EMS, and the Riley County Police Department. Monday the 27th until 6:30 PM and Tuesday the 28th from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM, residents can have their “vote” drawn at 2900 Kimball Street to donate to the blood drive benefitting the American Red Cross. The location is Manhattan’s St. Thomas More Catholic Church. It’s as simple as stopping by to donate blood and casting your vote for the emergency service of your choice.
The firefighters, paramedics, and police officers want you to know that the winning agency gets bragging rights and ownership of the trophy for a full year. You can find more information and make an appointment by clicking HERE.
