TOPEKA (KSNT) – Police are investigating a shooting in southeast Topeka Monday night.
The Topeka Police Department say that at 9:10 p.m. police were called to the 500 block of SE Gray in reference to a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
When TPD officers arrived they found the driver of the vehicle was the victim of a shooting, identified as 22-year-old Christopher Galvan of Topeka. Galvan was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. He remains in critical but stable condition at this time.
During the course of the investigation, a person of interest in the shooting has been identified as being 22-year-old Fernando Diaz of Topeka, who is known to drive a black 2003 Chevrolet Silverado with a Kansas license plate.
Police say the listed parties were known to each other and were involved in a dispute prior to the shooting.
Diaz is considered to be armed and dangerous. If seen police ask to not attempt to contact him. Immediately notify the Topeka Police Department via 911.
