SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) — Two people were arrested Thursday morning following a burglary in Shawnee County.
Around 3:30 a.m., someone reported suspicious activity at the Dover Township Road Department building located at 6030 SW Douglas Road. It was reported that a black Chevy Cavalier leaving the township parking lot with two occupants possibly had burglarized the facility.
A few minutes later a Shawnee County Sheriff’s deputy observed a black Chevy Cavalier matching the description of the suspicious vehicle traveling through the intersection of SW 35th and K-4 Highway. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and questioned the two occupants and, as a result of an investigation on scene, arrested them for crimes associated with the burglary to the Dover Township Building.
Joshua W. Dixon, 26 years old, of Manhattan, and Jessica M. Kennedy of Dover, were booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and charged with criminal damage to property, theft over $1,000 less than $2,5000 and burglary.
The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office says this incident is still under investigation.
