ROSS COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) — Deputies in Ross County say a 15-year-old boy is in custody after his mother was found dead on Bull Creek Road in Ross County.
According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a residence in the 800 block of Bull Creek Road on the report of a person dead.
“Deputies arrived to find a deceased body of a female in the residence at that time appeared to be out of the domestic dispute,”said Lt. Michael Preston with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
It was classified as a domestic dispute according to Ross county investigators because the woman’s 15-year-old son was also at the scene.
“We have a 15-year-old juvenile, the son of the victim in custody, no charges yet, he’s in investigative custody,” Lt. Preston said.
Deputies said a 15-year-old boy was taken into custody while they investigated the death of his mother at the home.
The initial 911 call from a neighbor to dispatchers, stated that the son had killed the mother after hitting her in the head with a hammer. Deputies have not confirmed the cause of death of the unidentified female.
Bull Creek Road is closed while BCI and Ross County deputies continue to investigate. The county prosecutor says this is still in the investigative phase, and no charges are expected today.
