City of Topeka announces two promotions Thursday

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka City Manager Jim Colson announced two promotions Thursday.

Starting September 11th, Doug Gerber will fill the role of deputy city manager.  He will oversee utilities, public works and customer service.  His salary will increase to $123,000 per year.  It’s the City’s first deputy city manager the City has had since Colson began his job three years ago Thursday.

Taking over Gerber’s former finance role will be Brandon Kauffman.  He will now oversee finance, budget and information technology. His salary will be increased to $102,000.
