JACKSON COUNTY (KSNT) — Jackson County District Judge Michael Ireland died on Saturday after experiencing a heart attack on Wednesday.
Jackson County Commissioner William Elmer confirmed Ireland’s passing to KSNT, citing a Facebook post from the judge’s daughter.
The heart attack happened on Wednesday in the Jackson County Courthouse. After his heart attack, Ireland stayed in the ICU of a Topeka hospital. After that, the Facebook post was made on Saturday night.
Ireland previously worked as a private practice attorney and as a Jackson County attorney.
Ireland was a K-State and Washburn alumnus.
