Missouri man pleads guilty in fatal home invasion

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — An Independence man has pleaded guilty for his role in a Missouri home invasion robbery that left three people dead.

The Kansas City Star reports 36-year-old Kevin M. Finley pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of using a firearm in a drug trafficking crime. According to the terms of the plea deal, Finley would be sentenced to 27 years in prison without parole.

Authorities say Finley and several others went to an Independence home in November 2012 to steal 3 pounds of methamphetamine but the occupants of the home denied having any drugs. Maria Hernandez, her boyfriend Martin Dominguez-Gregorio and her son, Antonio Hernandez, were fatally shot. Maria Hernandez’s 12-year-old son was wounded in the incident.

Raul Soto was also found guilty in the home invasion and was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
