TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Republican Party announced Thursday that Ohio Governor John Kasich will be the first presidential candidate to file for the Kansas Republican caucus, making him the first in Kansas.
Kansas Republican Chairman Kelly Arnold said that she congratulates Kasich on being the first Republican candidate to file for the Kansas caucus.
“Electing a Republican to the White House is a priority for Kansas and we are excited and look forward to seeing Governor Kasich and the rest of the Republican field campaign in the Sunflower State.”
Kasich stated that he is excited to be the first to file for the 2016 Kansas Caucus.
“I look forward to continuing to grow our Kasich For America Kansas operation. Kansas is an important state, we plan to be competitive there, and come March 5th, 2016, I hope to be first in Kansas again.”
The Kansas Presidential Caucus will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016. It will be held in about 95 different locations around Kansas that are being determined now.
Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson will be in Topeka Thursday evening speaking and answering questions at an invitation only fundraiser.
