The competition pitted chefs Sam Bradford of Plates Kitchen against Matt Lowery of Mura North Hills in a “iron-chef” style competition.

Both chefs were given 50 minutes to prepare an appetizer, entrée and dessert using mealworms, superworms, crickets and cicadas.

WNCN’s own Sean Maroney was one of the judges for the cook-off.

Lowery from Mura North Hills was crowned the champion.
