Tornado touches down near Kansas City

Saturday update: Tornado damages homes, causes injuries along state line.

KANSAS CITY (KSNT) — A tornado touched down near Kansas City Friday night after severe storms plowed through several counties to the east of Topeka.

The tornado shown in the video above was near Freeman, Mo.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning just after 6 p.m. near Hillsdale, Kan. Currently, there is some damage being reported in both Kansas’ Miami County and Missouri’s Cass County.

The warnings were allowed to expire around 8 p.m. So far, law enforcement hasn’t made any reports of injuries.

As many as six tornadoes were spotted moving through counties on both sides of the Kansas-Missouri border, south Kansas City.
