23-year-old caught burglarizing while resident slept inside

TOPEKA (KSNT) — At 1:14 a.m. on Saturday, someone flagged down a Topeka Police Department officer to tell them about a suspicious person in the 2100 block SW Brandywine.

Officers went to the area and saw a white man moving around with a flashlight on inside a residence at 2119 SW Brandywine. Officers ordered the man out of the residence and took him into custody without incident.

The man was identified as Blayne Robert Blevins, a 23-year-old Topekan.

Officers spoke to the person living in the residence, who was asleep, and they confirmed that Blevins wasn’t authorized to be in the house.

Blevins was arrested and booked into the Department of Corrections for Aggravated Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Theft.

The investigation continues, so no further details are currently available.
