MANHATTAN (KSNT) – A Kansas State University football player was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence.
Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Ponyntz Ave. and Evergreen Ave. in Manhattan at 2:55 a.m. Sunday.
Police found that a 2014 Ford F150 driven by 20-year-old Cre Moore had left the roadway, collided with a light pole and a privately owned stone stairwell. Police say the vehicle sustained major damage to the front driver’s side as well as the front driver’s side wheel which became detached as a result of the collision.
Moore did not sustain any injury as a result of the collision and after an investigation into the accident he was arrested for the offense of driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Throughout the course of the investigation police say Moore was found to also be in possession of several pills which were identified as depressants.
Moore is a sophomore back-up defensive back for the Wildcats majoring in computer science.
Moore was given a total bond of $3,500 for both offenses. Police say Moore is no longer in jail.
