Washburn Rural claims Centennial League tennis title; Emporia, Seaman land individual winners

TOPEKA (KSNT) – On Monday, the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka was home to the high school girls Centennial League tennis tournament. The competition began bright and early and lasted into the late afternoon. Washburn Rural won the team tournament by holding off Shawnee Heights and Emporia.

In the singles final, Emporia senior Ashley DeBauge defeated Hayden freshman Brooklyn Hunter 8-4.

In the doubles final, Seaman’s Sarah Knight and Shyanna Osterhaus defeated Washburn Rural’s Darby Hirsch and Avery Munns 8-7.
