Man shot while breaking into home in Overbrook

OSAGE COUNTY (KSNT) – A man is in a Topeka hospital Thursday after he was shot while allegedly breaking into an Overbrook home.

Chief Terry Hollingsworth, with Overbrook PD says at 12:35 Thursday morning 911 was notified by a resident of Overbrook who had an intruder force entry into their home. The subject who had been shot then fled the residence. Just five minutes later Osage County 911 received a call from Bruce Jolly, 48 of Overbrook who had been shot and was at a neighbors house.

Jolly was transported by Osage County EMS to Stormont Vail Hospital, his condition is not known at this time.

Hollingsworth says search warrants were conducted at both the Jolly residence and the victim’s residence to collect evidence.

The person who shot Jolly was not injured and was not arrested.  The victims name will not be released at this time.

The case has been turned over to the Osage County Attorney for formal charges on Jolly.

The Overbrook Police Department and the Osage County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
