Man arrested after leading Topeka Police on early morning chase

TOPEKA (KSNT) — One person was arrested Thursday morning after leading police on a chase.

The Topeka Police Department says shortly after 5:00 a.m., an officer at 37th and Adams observed a silver Chevy Tahoe driving without headlights. Police say as the officer turned on the emergency lights to stop the vehicle, the driver initiated a pursuit that went east on Adams towards California.

Police say the vehicle drove off the paved road and rolled onto its side at 37th and Indiana. The driver, who was the only occupant, fled on foot.

He was taken into custody and identified as 35-year-old Anthony Starks II. He was found to be on parole and was transported to the Department of Corrections for fleeing and eluding, obstruction, suspended drivers license, driving without headlights, and drug possession and paraphernalia.
