JACKSON COUNTY (KSNT) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports the silver alert for 70-year-old Joan M. Rebar remains in effect.
Rebar is Native American, stands 5’6″ and weighs 230 pounds. She has blue eyes and brown hair.
She was last seen at the Meriden VFW in the early morning hours of September 26th. Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says she may have been driving from Meriden to the Prairie Band Potawatomie Reservation.
Sheriff Morse says currently there are no persons of interest in her disappearance. The last ping on Rebar’s cell phone was on September 26th in the afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office says at that time her phone may have been within seven miles of Meriden. They are asking individuals who live or have property in the three county area of Jefferson, Shawnee or Jackson County to check in case Rebar’s vehicle left the roadway.
The three county area has been searched by law enforcement, volunteers and aircraft. The Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism have used sonar to search Perry Lake on Saturday.
She drives a silver 2005 Chrysler Pacifica with “Kansas disabled tag 71664,” according to Sheriff Morse.
If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Joan Rebar or circumstances leading to her disappearance, they are asked to contact the Potawatomi Tribal Police Department at 785-966-3024 or the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 785-364-2251.
