Topeka intersection back open after suspicious package investigated

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A busy Topeka intersection is back open Friday afternoon after Topeka Police investigated a suspicious package.

Topeka Police Officers were called to the 600 block of SW Gage in regards to a citizen report of a suspicious package in that area.

Topeka Police say that during the investigation, precautionary measures were taken to secure the area and keep the public safe.

Traffic was closed in all directions at the intersection of SW 6th and Gage Blvd. At 2:30 p.m. the intersection was back open and traffic returned to normal.

During the incident the eastbound and westbound I-70 and Gage Blvd. interchange ramps were also closed and are back open now as well.
