Man charged in Kansas City party shooting that left 2 dead

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A 41-year-old man has been charged in a shooting at a Kansas City party that left two people dead and two others injured.

Jackson County prosecutors announced Friday that Jose L. Yepes-Zavala was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and seven other felonies.

The suspect has not been captured and police believe he fled the Kansas City region.

Prosecutors allege Yepes-Zavala shot people at a party at a Kansas City home on July 26.

The fatalities were 31-year-old Antonio Hernandez, and 39-year-old Omero Garcia.
