United Way of Greater Topeka helps Jackson Co. families for Christmas

HOLTON, Kan. (KSNT) — For the third year, United Way of Greater Topeka is working to help families in Jackson County for Christmas.

On Wednesday Oct. 14, a $5,000 check was presented to Jennifer Ingles and Jennifer Godfrey of the Jackson County Ministerial Alliance Christmas Bureau. The check was presented by United Way board members & Jackson County Advisory Committee Co-Chairs Tonya Barta and Carrie Saia.

“United Way is thrilled to once again reinvest in Jackson County by helping the JCMA Christmas Bureau,” Barta said. “We know this donation will help make the holidays brighter for some Jackson County residents. This is a reflection of generous donations, given through the United Way annual campaign, going back to help others.”

Last year, the JCMA Christmas Bureau received 206 applications for help and served a total of 762 people.
