TOPEKA (KSNT) – Hill’ Pet Nutrition confirmed Tuesday they will cut 44 positions in the Information Technology (IT) unit of it’s Topeka operations.
In a statement to KSNT News, company spokesperson Edisa Chacin says employees affected by the action were told last Friday of the decision to move the jobs to “existing Colgate-Palmolive IT centers in New Jersey, Mexico City, and Mumbai effective January 1, 2017”.
Chacin says the employees are eligible to apply for other IT positions within the company, including newly created ones at the New Jersey IT center.
Hills has had a substantial presence in the Topeka area with its headquarters and development facility located here and it also has manufacturing facilities in Topeka and Emporia. It currently employs more than 900 people in its four Kansas facilities.
