TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka elementary school is showing off a new classroom. But, this one is outside!
Students and staff at Whitson Elementary held a ribbon cutting Monday morning for their new classroom. The first phase is now complete.
It’s being described as a “learning garden”.
It even has outdoor seating, a chalkboard and other features include a wishing well and a solar-powered fountain.
The designer of the outdoor area hopes it will create an atmosphere to engage students in the learning process in a variety of ways.
