TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka police searched for several hours for a suspect who stole a car and fled from police early Monday morning.
According to police, an officer spotted a vehicle that was reported as stolen. The officer tried to pull it over, but the driver did not stop.
A car chase ended in the Oakland area near the water treatment plant, when the suspect drove through a barrier fence there and escaped on foot.
Police found the empty vehicle and spent several hours searching the area on foot, with a police K-9, for the suspect.
Police said they conducted an exhaustive search, and, as of 3:00 a.m., they were not able to find the suspect.
