TOPEKA (KSNT) — A new center at Washburn University in Topeka will provide academic resources and transitional help for veterans.
The Washburn University’s Veterans Success Center opened Tuesday afternoon on the main level of Mabee Library.
The school says the location will also provide social opportunities designed to help Washburn’s student veterans connect with fellow classmates.
“We have 148 veterans that we know of here on campus and I expect most of them to use it. I expect at least half of the people to use it once, if they don’t know. Now they’ll know soon enough,” veteran Matthew Becker said.
The Washburn University Veteran Success Center also plans to organize job fairs and help veterans find jobs after college
