We’re tracking a strong cold front making its way towards Northeast Kansas, and it will bring with it a chance for some rain showers, possibly mixing with a few snowflakes during the overnight hours. However, we’re not expecting any snow accumulation with this system. We are expecting a big cool down, though!
Winds will shift to the north/northwest after the cold front passes, and they’ll be running 20-30 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph at times! And, with temperatures falling into the 20s tonight, it’s going to feel MUCH colder. Wind chills will be in the teens tonight!
We’ll clear the clouds out by tomorrow morning, but don’t let that fool you. High temperatures will only make it into the mid 30s, and the breezy winds will still be with us making it feel more like the 20s outside tomorrow. Bundle up!
