TOPEKA (KNST) — It’s time to celebrate the holidays and one local community service organization is doing it in a big way.
It’s TARC’s 18th annual Winter Wonderland.
Shiny rainbow colored Christmas lights have taken over Lake Shawnee.
Santa, traveling all the way from the North Pole, just to say hi to the kiddos.
“Great mood enhancer for the holidays, but certainly TARC does do much to help people in this town,” says Bill Griffin.
Winter Wonderland is one of TARC’s most important fundraisers. With the proceeds going to help children and adults with disabilities.
For a ten dollar donation, you drive through the two-mile light show you’ll see some of your favorite displays.
“Every donation that comes into goes directly into programming at TARC,” says Sherry Lundry, Development Director with TARC.
Last year Winter Wonderland drew more than 11-thousand families in their vehicles and raised about $160,000.
