Burglar caught in home, arrested

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Police said they arrested a man late Wednesday, after a neighbor caught him sneaking into a Topeka home.

Around 11:30 p.m., a neighbor called police about a possible burglary going on in the 2600 block of SW 7th St.They told police they were pretty certain the alleged burglar was still inside.

A K-9 officer was called to the scene and warned the alleged burglar the K-9 would be sent into the house.

Brian Wood, 56, eventually came out and surrendered.

According to police, he was arrested at the scene and booked into the Shawnee County jail for burglary and attempted theft.
