Holton Wildcats prepare for 4A DII state title game

HOLTON (KSNT) – On Saturday afternoon the Holton Wildcats will play for their 4th state championship is program history. The ‘Cats last won the state title back in 2012.

It’s been an interesting season to say the least. Holton began the year (0-2) with close losses, at home, to Silver Lake and Maize South. The Wildcats also had their league winning streak of 48 games snapped by Nemaha Central, the same Thunder team who halted Holton’s run of seven-straight Big Seven League titles.

Holton beat Osawatomie (35-12), Frontenac (22-7), and Columbus (23-22) to advance to the 4A DII championship game.

Kickoff in the Class 4A Division II State Championship game will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in Salina District Stadium in Salina, KS.
