Two dogs rescued from business fire

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Two dogs were rescued Wednesday night from a fire at a local business.

Topeka fire crews arrived to the 500 block of NW Lyman Road around 8 p.m. They found smoke and flames coming from Wrench-It Automotive.

Fire fighters found two dogs inside. One was found unresponsive. Crews used their animal medical kit to save its life.

The second dog was not harmed but a turtle did not survive.

Fire officials said the fire was under control in 30 minutes and extinguished within an hour.

The cause of the fire is unknown but an investigation is underway. It left about $30,000 dollars in damage to the automotive shop.
