TOPEKA (KSNT) – Bond was set Monday morning for the man accused in last week’s double homicide at an apartment complex in southeast Topeka.
In his first court appearance, a judge set a $1 million bond for 22-year-old Nicholas Phillips.
During his court appearance a judge told him of the two felony murder charges against him. His next court appearance will be March 23, 2016.
The charges for the shootings at the Timberlee Apartments in southeast Topeka that claimed the lives of 20-year-old Daquhan Jackson and his cousin 29-year-old Mary Thomas.
The victims were reportedly involved in a disturbance with Phillips right before the shootings.
