Topeka teen thanks first responders with cookies

TOPEKA (KSNT) – On Christmas, a Topeka teen continued her annual tradition of thanking those who protect us every day of the year.

Kasey Sturgeon stopped by Topeka fire stations in the afternoon to drop off cookies for the firefighters.

Kasey has been doing this for nine years in a row. She started the tradition as a way to thank those men and women who work on Christmas to protect us.

She made stops at all Topeka fire stations and the Topeka Police and Shawnee County Sheriff’s office, as well as AMR and Shawnee County’s dispatch center.
