Suspect arrested in Manhattan shooting

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – One person was arrested after a shooting in rural Manhattan Tuesday night.

Around 5 p.m., officers received a call of a “person injured” according to Pottawatomie Sheriff Greg Riat.

According to Riat, emergency personnel arrived at the scene near Lake Elbo Road. The male victim suffered from a gun shot wound and was able to speak with deputies before being taken by medical helicopter to a Topeka hospital.

Riat could not comment on the extent of the victim’s injuries because he did not talk directly to the victim.

Then there was a “manhunt if you will,” according to Riat for the male suspect.

Shortly before 9 p.m., Riat and other officers arrived on Cannonball Road southwest of Louisville and found the alleged shooter.

The suspect, Riat said, did not have any injuries.

This is a developing story. Stay with KSNT News for updates.
