TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a domestic violence incident that occurred Thursday morning in the city of Auburn.
Sheriff Herman Jones says that at 12:10 p.m. Thursday officers with the Topeka Police Department were investigating a hit and run collision in the 6000 block of SW 6th St. During their investigation they requested the sheriff’s office to the scene as there was evidence that the hit and run was connected to a domestic violence incident earlier in Auburn.
Sheriff deputies arrived on the scene and determined the suspect, 45-year-old Jerry L. Brock, of Auburn, was the driver of a Chevy Malibu that struck another vehicle left at the scene.
Jones says deputies were able to locate Brock at his residence in Auburn and was committed for aggravated domestic assault, domestic battery, kidnapping, intimidation of a witness/victim, criminal threat and two counts of child endangerment.
Brock was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and the incident according to the sheriff’s office is still under investigation.
