We’re tracking much colder weather for the long, holiday weekend. High temperatures on Saturday will only make it into the lower 30s with some clouds hanging around. But, we’re tracking a cold front that will make it’s way through the area late Saturday night bringing a slight chance for snow flurries into early Sunday morning.
The big story though is the cold. Low temperatures will drop into the teens Saturday night, but our winds will be pretty blustery out of the north. And, that will make it feel downright frigid heading into Sunday morning. We’ll have wind chill values solidly below zero across Northeast Kansas with most areas making it to around -10°! And, with high temperatures on Sunday only making it into the teens, it’ll be best to just try and stay inside! If you have to leave the house dress in lots of layers!
Our winds will begin to relax a bit Sunday night into Monday, but with low temperatures in the single digits, it’s still going to be cold! High temperatures for MLK day will only be in the teens, too. And our next best chance for snowfall this week will be on Tuesday. Still doesn’t look very impressive, but it could give us some light snow totals by Tuesday night.
