TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka middle school went under a brief lock down Tuesday morning.
Topeka Public Schools says at 10:45 a.m. Chase Middle School entered a lockdown procedure due to a student having a pocket knife out and visible in one of our 7th grade classrooms.
The students in the class were cleared of the classroom and the student with the knife was contained and removed from the building.
Director of Communications for Topeka Public Schools Misty Kruger says the building immediately went into lockdown and Topeka Public School Police responded within the school.
Classes are back in session and school has resumed as normal.
