TOPEKA (KSNT) – An overturned semi carrying jet fuel that leaked onto the highway slowed traffic down Wednesday morning on a Topeka turnpike.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority reported at 10:17 a.m. that traffic was moving again on the northbound exit ramp at mile marker 177 in South Topeka on Interstate I-470.

KTA says the semi was northbound on I-335 and was exiting at the toll plaza when for unknown reason it left the roadway and overturned.

The driver was identified as 43-year-old John William Conrad, of Lawton, Oklahoma. KTA says Conrad did sustain injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
